Update

OK, I know I said this before. But I plan on making an honest effort on making weekly updates on my blog. I will be discussing everything from Landscape Architecture to the anything and everything in the design world itself. Also, if you're interested in learning more about me and the work I've completed over my academic and professional career, I will provide a portfolio for viewing.

Since the last time I've posted there have been many exciting new ventures in my life. Back in March, I started as a Landscape Designer with Hebron Brick and Block in Fargo, North Dakota. I mainly design residences and small commercial property. Here is example of the work I've been doing for them.

That's all for now, I'll come back with another update next week and hopefully work on something a little larger scale. Right now I'm looking at design competitions so I'll hopefully have a more interesting update next time.

First Design after Graduation

Since graduation I have been looking at job listings in the hope of starting my career in Landscape Architecture. For those of you who don't know, a degree in Landscape Architecture has many more career options than the "Average Joe" may think. Many aspiring Landscape Architecture students will go on to become planners, urban designers, in addition to the obvious, landscape architect.

Recently, I decided to give myself a small break from the job search by enjoying a wine and dine evening with some close friends of mine. Over the past few years, I have grown to enjoy wine and have recently started a small collection of my favorites that I've tried. With this new collection that I've started, I need a place to properly store the wine properly. So I took the liberty to design my own twelve bottle wine rack. The first draft of my design is listed below.

I'm not saying that my woodworking ability isn't great, but I'm not nearly the expert as my father. My father is not only good at wood working, but he absolutely loves doing it. I figured that since him and I have teamed up before on a design build project (I designed an Adirondack bench for my mother a couple years ago) that this would be another project for him and I to work on.

Just a smidge overdue.....

This is my first post in over a year on this particular blog. Now that I have completed my studies, I will be able to focus on keeping the blog updated on a more regular basis with my work, thoughts, and just general updates on life, design related or not. I hope you enjoy reading through my blog and welcome all constructive criticism and advice that may make me a better designer in the future.
